If you're looking for something literary to inspire you in the midwestern midwinter, Charleston, Illinois is located just a couple of hours of drive-time across the snow covered farmlands from St. Louis or Indianapolis, a bit farther from Chicago. Lodging in the Charleston/Matoon area is relatively inexpensive, use the link above for more details. Edward Kelsey Moore was thrilled to participate in Booktopia, a weekend on the northern shores of Lake Michigan in the beautiful town of Petoskey. Nine authors gathered with dozens of dedicated fans of their writing to meet, greet, discuss, and delight in each other's company. Booktopia was created by Ann Kingman and Michael Kindness, hosts of the Books On The Nightstand podcast. Visit their Booktopia page to learn more about these great weekend retreats and sign up there to receive info on the 2014 Booktopia dates, locations, and authors.
